Christopher Dawson was one of the most brilliant cultural historians of the twentieth century, whose works, unfortunately, are not as well known as they should be. He had a very comprehensive view of history and culture, and his writings are full of remarkable insights. They include: Progress and Religion, (Sheed & Ward, London, 1938). The Judgement of the Nations, (Sheed & Ward, London, 1943). The Making of Europe, (Sheed & Ward, London, 1946). Understanding Europe, (Sheed & Ward, London, 1952). The Dynamics of World History, (Sheed & Ward, London, 1957). Religion and the Rise of Western Culture, (Image Books, New York, 1958). The Historic Reality of Christian Culture, (Routledge & Kegan Paul, London, 1960). The Dividing of Europe, (Sheed & Ward, New York, 1965). The Gods of Revolution, (Sidgwick & Jackson, London, 1972).
