SPECIAL NOTICE - DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

Sunday 7th April, this coming Sunday, is Divine Mercy Sunday. This has a great promise attached to it, which runs as follows:

According to St. Faustina, Our Lord promises to those who go to confession and communion on this day, the remission of the guilt and the punishment of sins.

"On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy

Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity." (Diary of Sr. Faustina, 699)

1. Theotokos News

The numbers of visitors to Theotokos Catholic Website continues to rise - there have been about 5,000 since Christmas alone, which is a rise of 100% over the preceding three months. This is encouraging, because it means that there is a genuine interest in many of the topics covered by the site, and particularly with regard to apparition discernment, the Foyers, and the creation/evolution debate. Please feel free to continue to send me any questions, comments etc., you may have to:

There are new sections concerned with Catholic Pilgrimages and Catholic Retreats at:

www.theotokos.org.uk/pages/cathpilg/cathpilg.html

and

www.theotokos.org.uk/pages/cretreat/cretreat.html

In particular, it is worth noting that World Apostolate of Fatima (England) National Pilgrimage, takes place from 8-15 July, 2002. The price is £430 per person, sharing, and is inclusive of tax and insurance. The flight goes from London Heathrow, and we will be staying at the World Apostolate house in Fatima, Domus Pacis. It promises to be a very good week. Last year about 70 pilgrims spent a very enjoyable week at the Portuguese shrine.

Mgr Tom Fallon is the spiritual director. The Tour Operator is Celebration Travel - ATOL 5460. For more details e-mail: - details and itinerary also on the Theotokos website at:

www.theotokos.org.uk/pages/waof/waof.html

Those in the US, who would like to go to Fatima, might like to try:

www.bluearmy.com/pilgrimages.htm

The other important event, later in the year, is the Five Day silent Foyer of Charity type retreat to be led by Father Ian Ker, the internationally renowned Newman scholar, who has taken an active interest in the new movements and communities. This will be held at the Carmelite Priory, near. Oxford, England, from September 9th - 14th 2002.

Following on from the success of the 2001 Retreat, those who are keen to support the growing movement to found a FOYER in this country are invited to come to this sixth Foyer-type retreat.

Each day will be modelled on the retreats held in the many Foyers world-wide. Silence will be of the essence. Please book early, as this retreat is likely to be very popular. For more details please e-mail: - more information is also available at:

www.theotokos.org.uk/pages/movecomm/foyer/eretreat.html

For those who want to experience Foyer Spirituality at source, then there will be a Foyer retreat in English, given by Fr Matthew Bradley, at Châteauneuf de-Galaure, from 4-11 August 2002. This is the "Mother House" of the Foyer movement, and a visit there is very much recommended, not least because it gives you a chance to visit Marthe's house, and the places associated with her. The cost from London is £435 (sterling), and the visit includes a day excursion to the shrine of the Cure d'Ars. For more information contact:

Recent Fatima News

Secret revealed, Russia consecrated, Sr. Lucia insists

VATICAN, Dec 20, 01 (CWNews.com) - The Vatican has published an account of a meeting between Sister Lucia, the Fatima seer, and Archbishop Tarcisio Bertone. In their conversation, Sister Lucia flatly rejected the claim that the "third secret of Fatima" has not been fully revealed..

Recent L'Ile Bouchard news

L'Ile Bouchard, a small town near Tours, in France, was the scene of apparitions of Mary to a group of young children in December 1947, which lasted a week. Recognition of these apparitions took an important step forward in December 2001, when the local Archbishop, Andre Vingt-Trois, authorized pilgrimages and the public cult celebrated at the church of St Gilles. This has not received much publicity, but there is every sign that the events at L'Ile Bouchard were authentic, unlike so many claims of alleged apparitions.

"The Weka-Feather Cloak: A New Zealand Fantasy" by Leo Madigan

A new Children's adventure story

The resulting wild and sometimes hair-raising adventures become strangely entangled with the mysterious quest that has brought beautiful Zelia Mazloum all the way from Turkey to New Zealand.

In the midst of all this, Danny accepts a call to make a unique contribution to his home, the land that rests upon the seas, Aetearoa.

Demonic creatures, angelic beings, sly villains, an old and beautiful weka-feather cloak, a blank wall in a new Cathedral and an unforgettable Maori nun come together in this amazing and original tale of spirit and laughter.

3. EWTN in Britain

EWTN - Eternal Word Television Network - the global Catholic network - is now available in Britain. If you are fed up with the downward spiral in the standards of British TV, then EWTN will be like a breath of fresh air for you.

Founded by Mother Angelica in 1981, in a garage at her monastery in Alabama, EWTN has grown tremendously over the last two decades to become the world's largest Catholic media network.

Programming includes daily Mass and devotionals, news and Church events, teaching series, talk shows, dramas and documentaries, and children's programmes. There is something for everyone, and it's free once you have paid £209 to purchase the satellite dish and set-top box, plus another £60 for installation - but you can make donations to EWTN if you choose, and that is their main source of income.

The programmes are varied, interesting and thoroughly Catholic - in fact the best thing about EWTN is its orthodoxy, although it is not dull, but rather lively and inspirational. £269 is a small price to pay for access to an excellent TV station, which is doing a great work in promoting the Church and its teaching - highly recommended!

5. Security/virus info

Fortunately, "Badtrans" seems to be a thing of the past now, and no notable replacements have arisen at the time of writing. But it is only a matter of time before some nasty virus does come along, and so if you still haven't got good anti-virus software then you need to get it installed - quickly!

A very good anti-virus software package, which can be updated via the Internet - a necessity these days - is obtainable from Symantec - http://www.symantec.com/

McAfee provide a good alternative.

Again, the golden rule is never to click on an attachment you are not sure about - even if it apparently comes from somebody you know.

As mentioned previously, it is also a very good idea to have a "firewall" program such as Zonealarm. This is free for personal users, easy to use, and can be downloaded from:

http://www.zonealarm.com/products/za/index.html

Important note: The above advice is not intended to replace professional advice on these matters - always back up your hard disk before making any changes/additions and if in any doubt seek professional advice.

4. Do-it-Yourself Popes: The Wacky World of Sedevacantists, by Michael Petek

There are a lot of people claiming to be the true pope of the Catholic Church. The sedevacantists and the elect-your-own-pope brigade in particular commonly claim that every pope after Pius XII was not validly in office. This article will help provide Catholics with an answer for those who have been deceived into following radical traditionalists' sects.

8. And finally ... Some messages to God from young children!

Dear God: Instead of letting people die and having to make new ones, why don't you just keep the ones you have.

Dear God: Maybe Cain and Abel would not have killed each other so much if they had their own rooms. That's what my mom did for me and my brother.

Dear God: If you watch me in church on Sunday, I'll show you my new shoes.

Dear God: I bet it is very hard for you to love all of everybody in the whole world. There are only 4 people in our family and I'm having a hard time loving all of them.

Dear God: I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset you made on Tuesday. That was cool.
