World Apostolate of Fatima,
The World Apostolate of Fatima, (WAF), in England and Wales
Members of the World Apostolate of Fatima, England and Wales, can now offer Presentations on Fatima:
There is normally a WAF England and Wales National Pilgrimage to Fatima each year in July, with Fr Gerard Kelly as Spiritual Director, and Mike Daley as Leader:
On 7 October 2010 the WAF was permanently erected as a Public Association of the Faithful by Cardinal Rylko, President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. This confirmed that the WAF is in full communion with the Church, and is the only Fatima organization that speaks with the Holy See’s approval on the message of Fatima.
In a letter to the 2008 WAF General Assembly, Cardinal Rylko said that our charism “is intimately intertwined with the New Evangelisation … the content of the message is the profound love of Mary for Jesus, who is concerned for the destiny of her sons and daughters”.
Christian faith is under threat today, especially regarding marriage and the family, and Our Lady’s message is urgently needed to uphold the spiritual life of the Church through promoting the devotions which Our Lady requested at Fatima.
The WAF is strongly supported by the hierarchy in countries such as India, Africa and particularly the Philippines, and in Britain it has was approved by the Bishops’ Conference in 2004.
Our committee members live in Birmingham, Nottingham, Southwark, Clifton and Plymouth dioceses, and we only work in a diocese in those parishes where we have been invited by or received the permission of the parish priest.
We intend to launch our own WAF website in Britain shortly. Meanwhile the website for the International Secretariat of the WAF in Fatima can be seen at: www.worldfatima.com/
Previously, our principal major successful activity has been the WAF National Pilgrimage to Fatima each July, which continues in the tradition established by the late Mgr Fallon’s inspiring spiritual leadership.
Recently we have started promoting Fatima in various new ways, including giving talks, and showing DVDs and Fatima Presentations. Our present focus is on promoting the daily Rosary, which is vital for upholding the faith of families, and the Five First Saturdays devotion.
