Basic Cost for flight, transfers, and hotel, per person, sharing, is £300.

Staying at: Solar da Marta Hotel, (http://www.solar-damarta.com), a lovely family run residence, with its own chapel, offering homely half-board accommodation within only a few minutes walking distance of the Basilica and the Capelinha.

This will be a spiritual pilgrimage focusing on absorbing the beautiful message given to Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia at Fatima by Our Lady, as way of deepening the spiritual life of pilgrims.

Accommodation is based on shared rooms. Single rooms are available, subject to payment of a 75 euro supplement (15 euros per night – approx £12). Single rooms are of limited availability.

If any intending pilgrims are disabled or have special dietary requirements please email above address. If a less able pilgrim wishes to come on the pilgrimage, they must have an able helper to accompany them.

Intending pilgrims need to take out adequate travel insurance, which includes provision for scheduled airline failure – the Post Office provide such insurance at a cost of £20 for persons up to age 64 – you will need to confirm that you have taken out adequate travel insurance in order to come on the pilgrimage. Please ensure you have checked that any medical condition you may have is acceptable to your insurers.

A detailed pilgrimage itinerary will be provided later, but the pilgrimage will include the following:

• A walking tour of the Shrine
• Visits to the Basilica, which contains the tombs of Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta
• Visits to the Little Chapel of the Apparitions, and the new Church of the Most Holy Trinity
• Visits to the Loca do Anjo where the Angel appeared and Valinhos
• The stations of the cross from near to Fatima to near Aljustrel – approx 2 miles each way
• Visits to the homes of the three seers in Aljustrel, and the Fatima Parish Church of St. Anthony where the children were baptised
• Nightly Rosary and Candlelight Procession at the Sanctuary of Fatima
• A film about the Fatima Apparitions and meeting with the WAF International Secretariat for a conference about Fatima and the WAF
• Holy Hour at the Monastery of Pius XII, including (real!) tea and a visit to book repository
• Visit to the Postulation Centre for info/books etc., about the Little Shepherds
  

A Passport is required for travel to Portugal. No passport, or an invalid one, means no pilgrimage! Most non-EU Passport holders require a Visa. Passports need to be valid until at least 3 months after return (6 months for non E.U. Residents).

There will be quite a lot of walking on this pilgrimage, so you will need to bring shoes you are comfortable walking in – also a hat, sunglasses, suncream, light jumper/cardigan - and an umbrella in case it rains!

On Bmibaby flights the baggage allowance is 20 kg. The pilgrimage includes the cost of one checked in bag, to go in the aircraft hold, and one piece of cabin baggage (max dimensions 55 x 40 x 20cm, max weight 10 kg).

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) - The E111 form is no longer valid. You will need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to receive necessary health care during a visit to Portugal. Your own travel insurance will be supplementary to EHIC benefits. The easiest way to get one is to apply online via: https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/home.do – and don't forget to bring your usual medicines.
